Every great change begins with an idea. We believe that powerful, creative solutions to community problems can be found everywhere—and we want to create a place to share them.

This is that place. This is where we talk about solutions.

 

Think about your own life and the community around you.

• Have you seen a clever solution to a local problem? Maybe your town found a great way to manage waste or create a community garden.
• Perhaps you know of a project that brought clean energy or new skills to people in need.
• Or maybe you look at an existing solution and think, "I have a better idea. There's a cheaper, simpler, or more effective way to do this."

Your knowledge is exactly what we are looking for. An idea that transformed your neighborhood could be the key to helping a community on the other side of the world, especially in developing countries where simple, low-cost solutions can have the biggest impact.

How to Share Your Solution

To make this collection of ideas easy to browse, we need your help.

In the comments below, please share a simple description of a solution. At the very top of your comment, tell us briefly what problem it solves. For example:

• "Problem: Plastic bags polluting the river."
• "Problem: Lack of books for school children."

Then, describe the solution. How does it work? What is needed? Why is it effective?

Then we will create a post describing the problem and add your solution, mentioning the nickname from the comment as the author of the solution. You can also indicate that you will provide the solution as a comment when we add a post describing the problem.
